I chose the 3rd option some week ago . (but then I wasn't aware of your other options)
Overclocks very simply, running @ 3.2GHz no probs
plenty of other happy customer reviews on ebuyer site
if you have any specific Q's ?

If you do a lot of video / photo work, then go for one of the quad core PC's (assuming you're using a package that takes advantage of all 4 cores, such as adobe premiere).
Otherwise, the ebuyer one is great value for money.

Is any 3d work required or purely 2d?
  • well if im honest i want to play 3d games too, so that leaves the ebay one looking better at this stage, dont know what the mobo is like?

The 9500GT is a bit crap TBH and not really a gaming card.

All the PC's will have cheapo power supplys, not good enough to power a decent midrange card like a 4850. Saying that, you *might* get away with a 4770. Ask the ebay one how much to upgrade.

Unless you build a PC yourself, you'll be struggling to find somewhere that will offer a quad core PC, with a decent graphics card PSU, 4gb ram and a good sized HD for under £350.

How comfortable are you with building PC's?

If you're ok doing that, then building from scratch is pretty straight forward. Especially with a decent case.

I've just priced up a system with a quad core q8200, 4gb ram, 500gb hd, artic cooler PSU and an ati 4770 and could sell for £350 and still make a decent enough profit to make it worthwhile to an ebay seller. Price difference between a 9500gt and a 4770 is about £35 at most.

Includes a case. Cheapest, nastiest one I could find mind you, but a case nontheless ;)
I just priced up parts from ebuyer other than the CPU (I can get at cost), and no doubt you can buy parts individually elsewhere for less. Try scan or aria. Even so, the total comes to £345 inc delivery even if buying the CPU from ebuyer.

  • so buy the time i get a fan for the cpu heat sink compound and case and cables for the drives, theres not too much in it i guess. ill see what the ebay bloke offers then decide thanks for your time mate.
