Air Compressor - Car Tyres

Has anyone had an air compressor for blowing up their car tyres?

I am thinking about getting one because every time I call in at Asda / Tesco their compressor is broken so I can't blow my tyres up.

They are quite cheap (about £12) and the petrol I use driving further away to check them will save that £12 anyway!

Just don't want to get one if they are rubbish.

Would also be helpful if they allowed inflation of air beds with them for when we are camping!

Cheers

M

Ive Had One For Years, It Is Only A Cheap Old Thing But It Does The Job Well, Apart From The Noise It Makes!

Thanks Nile, I would have put it here myself if I had seen it, ther are too many forums on here I can't see the wood for the trees!

Mike, does yours have an attachment that would blow an air bed up?

Do you remember where you got yours from / if its still available / which one it is?

    Thanks

it had one of them red ends for pumping up footballs if thats what you mean, i've had it years, think it was from halfords, it also has a light and flash as well as a gauge. best to shop around.

I have had a few. They are noisy but do work.

You wont enjoy the speed you would get at a forecourt and I still use the compressors there if I can. The other thing is that the guages aren't 100% accurate so best to buy a separate tyre guage too.

Excellent for camping though and mine is never far away when we go away a trip.

Oh and most of the compressors come with a pack of adapters for airbeds, footballs etc.

I can recommend them and wouldn't be without one. It's 10 miles to our nearest garage, even further if we want one after 8pm. It's useful for bikes, wheelbarrows, trailers, lawnmowers, footballs, airbeds ( 20 mins to inflate a double) and wheelchairs. Also, after installing my central heating system, I was able to use it to pressurise the system to check for leaks before filling it with water. The flashing orange light is useful if you break down at night.
