Wife's laptop won't import pics from her camera

When my wife connects her camera Fuji Finepix to her pc, nothing happens, it just doesn't recognise it, however if I connect it to my laptop it automatically downloaded the drivers and I imported pics. Why wouldn't it do it on the wife's? She says she has imported pics in the past but not now. I've uninstalled all the Finepix software and that didn't make any difference. Any ideas please?

Have you tried a different USB socket?

Do other devices work in the socket?

Does USB need to be enabled either in the OS or the BIOS?

Yes I've tried a different USB socket. Also after I downloaded her pics to my pc I copied them to a usb memory stick and transferred them to her pc and her pc recognised the usb memory stick.

Plug camera in. Go to device manager and delete the device. If you can't see it delete all USB devices. Reboot.

Great nobby24. Perhaps the drivers got corrupt when you installed the Finepix software?
