meeting with solicitors tomorrow...

FTB buying a house, meeting with solicitor and have been asked to take passports as ID to prove we're not money laundering or something... Well my passport has decided to go awol, was sure it was in my "safe box." Does anybody know if alternative ID will be adequate, have bank statements, drivers license with counterpart, birth certificate etc....

Answers on a postcard asap please
Thanks

I did the online ID with my solicitors, and a passport number etc. was definitely required as was NI number.
For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.
  • I have a feeling I sent them photocopies of our passports right back at the beginning of the process... It was probably not putting them back properly that means it is awol... oops!

Not everyone has a passport, so other ID has to be acceptable.

Drivers Licence will be fine. Anything that the government has tested is good.

Plenty of people don't even have a passport or a driving licence - doesn't stop them buying houses.
