Nintendo WI-FI USB Connector

My son has got a nintendo ds and he has a club penguin game that can be played on the pc. I have bought a nintendo wi-fi usb connector to enable him to play, but I cannot install it. There is a message that states that if the firewall is on or virus ware then it may not install, i have disabled the firewall, but have avg, adware and spyware blaster on my pc and do not know how to disable them, could anyone please tell me? Also has anyone any ideas as to how I install this connector?
