It is difficult to believe someone is serious about tackling there debts whilst spending £60.00 per month on an expensive, unnecessary TV package, and I believe the creditors will feel the same. To me it just does not add up.
IT is a very common problem that happens all the time untill people get their lightbulb moments.
SOA often have items that can be removed/reduced very common are TV,mobiles, then you have big food bills, often gifts, gym, holidays are in there but it is not obvious to most people that ALL these need to go if they are to deal with the debts.
They need help and encouragement to prioritising each of the spends removing as many as possible and reducing the rest.
This takes time.
Comments like the above are not constructive and show that you have a lack of understanding typical situations people get themselves into and the kind of need help to get them out of debt.0 -

It appears that a full HD movies and sports package is now considered a human right, no matter whether you can afford to pay your debts or not.
Sorry, but I had to say it.
Sometimes the truth hurts, and you have to be realistic, and the OP is hardly being realisitic about getting out of debt, then talking about all these fancy sky packages.
I live in a deprived area - we only get 4 tv channels, but I still don't feel the need to subscribe to sky or anything like that.
I also think since many posters say that they have been looking on the forums long before they post, it may also make other people sit up and realise how much money they are wasting!:TProud to have lived within my means all my life :T0 -
Try to be as accurate as possible if you are not sure about something make a note on the post you can fix it later, it usualy take a few goes to catch all the spends.
Once posted you will get the help analysing how you can change things.
At the end of the day it is your SOA and you decide how to allocate your money(some may have different priorities), with debt you have to be aware of the creditors attitude to certain types of spends but they will let you buy food, pay your bills and bring up children with reasonable amounts and still consider freezing interest.
On the entertainment front.
It can be hard to change once used to a lot of choice on the TV but at the end of the day you can't watch everything at once.
With a freeview PVR and Virgin free TV which comes with catchup(a selection of progs for a week after broadcast), then looking for things to record there could be more than enough to keep you in TV with time shifting.
It will be a mix of quality and trash there is also the library/charity shops for movies. there is also the PC/internet option depending on your PC kit.
Don't forget as well as cutback there is increase income options to explore.
As a nurse there are usualy ways to do this by carefull shift(nights/sundays) selections and overtime if available.0 -
why do you need to arrange an interview i done all my on line.0

Your signature says it all Chigley - not sure why you feel the need to post in this forum when you are obviously so completely, perfectly flawless in every way - good luck to you, but please - take your views somewhere where they would add value, rather than sitting in judgment.....Amount saved by cutting down on  since 24/08/2009....... :j£81.78:j0 -
why do you need to arrange an interview i done all my on line.
The interview is a facility for people to speak to a counsellor about their budget and their debts and get advice on where spending can be cut and what is reasonable for you to be expected to live on.
A lot of people do not fully appreciate the legitimate costs associated with day to day living and end up offering more than they can realistically afford to their creditors, thus meaning they struggle to meet their obligations and end up in trouble again.
Of course, the online option worlks perfectly well for some as well - just depends on what situation you are in I guess.Amount saved by cutting down on  since 24/08/2009....... :j£81.78:j0
