Natwest esaver extended bonus

The offer is only for randomly selected customers so if you do not have any letter by now it is likely you have not been selected. Sorry!
I wonder if this will catch on. Perhaps random Tesco shoppers will be selected for 'two bananas for the price of one'. Bus drivers could roll a dice to decide who gets to travel half price? The possibilities are endless.0 -

My 2.1% bonus comes to and end at the end of this month,
Received a letter offering to give me a 1.4% bonus for an extended period of 16 months. That sounds like 16 months from 1 Oct this year.
Anyway it's 2.4% which will be enough to stop me moving the money away at the moment.
I have had this offer too, TBH I don't see how one can lose by accepting this offer, it's not a fantastic rate but AFAIAA it's an instant access account* so even if you accept the offer you can move your money out any time you want to.
Surely you can just return the acceptance slip then carry on as before moving to a better account when you find one?
I have several fixed rate accounts that pay fairly decent interest but I find the esaver account useful as I can transfer funds instantly to my NW current account and I do like to have a decent sum available to use if I need it quickly.
*Unless they have changed the terms or something?0 -

I only just got the letter which is a bit stupid since the offer expires on the 21st! I didn't want to take it up anyway as I'd rather have the two months with the full bonus and then reassess.
BTW if you keep £5000+ in there you can get 2.75% right now with their e-Savings Plus, if you don't make any withdrawals...0 -
I checked yesterday and I only opened mine in the beginning of November, which means I still have at least 2 months' worth of bonus in that account.
The lady at the bank told me they'd only send the letter closer to the end anyway (although that hasn't happened for some of you).Being brave is going after your dreams head on0 -
My bonus is due to expire at the end of December so I probably opened it after you?
edit: just checked I opened it in November as well.0 -
Exactly - opened in November, and the bonus started to be paid in December (the month after opening).
Do you think that we will still get the higher rate then in November as well (so 12 months' worth of bonus), or will October be the last 3.14% month?Being brave is going after your dreams head on0 -
you get 12 months from the start of the bonus, so if you opened in November, the bonus started on Dec 31 2008, and ends a year later0
