Be very very wary of using this online company

I would urge people to be extremely wary of shopping with a company called the online basket company ( until today it was previously called Basket-ware .co.uk ). I made an order on the 24th July this year for a linen basket and my maestro card was debited for 43.95 straightaway. The basket was shown as in stock and when 9 days had passed I emailed the company to enquire as to the whereabouts of my item. They emailed me back to say that the item was delayed from their suppliers but should be with them the next week, nothing happened and I received another email saying delivery to them should be on the 15th August and would take another 3 days to get to me.
This date passsed and they sent another email this time saying that delivery to them should be 26th August. I then lost patience as it would be well over a month from my order date for this basket to get to me and they couldn't even guarantee that delivery date. I sent an email asking for the order to be cancelled and I wanted an immediate refund of my money. They then sent me an email saying that the order had been cancelled but I would have to wait 10 working days for my refund.
This date has now passed and I have no refund. I have tried to ring them but one message says they are having trouble with their phone lines, I tried again today and there is now a message saying the staff are sick. I've sent another email demanding my money back but have received no reply. They have changed their contact details and their billing details also so I am getting very worried that they have no intention of refunding my money. I don't know which way to turn. Do I go to the police as it is technically theft isn't it?
Has anyone else had trouble with this company?

Just to let you know that I still have had no refund and the email I sent to their new address has failed to get to them saying "it was in the queue too long " so this is obviously a fake address as well.
Please do not buy from them, I think you will lose your moneyOnwards and Upwards0 -
Write them a real letter... Recorded Delivery.
Tell them they have 14 days to refund your money or you will start legal action against them.0 -
I have ordered and paid for goods from this company and yet have received no goods since placing my order on the 16th December 2010.
I have made repeated attempts at contact via emails, which bounce back, telephone, which goes straight to voice message that they do not receive sales calls and no service to leave voicemail. The online enquiry form I have filled out 3 times with no response.
Further to this I have sought advice from trading standards. If no receipt of goods after 30 days, the contract with the company is subsequently cancelled and I am entitled to a full refund. Whether I can get hold of them to receive my refund is another matter.
DO NOT USE THE ONLINE BASKET COMPANY or any subsidery company linked to them, there is a brew one, a golf one, be very wary.0 -
I too ordered some baskets from these charlatans. They took the money immediately, but then a succession of e-mails followed stating a delivery date of Dec 2018 (the stuff goes via a post box on Mars?!), only to be followed by one saying the item was discontinued. But to top it all it is nigh on impossible to get hold of them, yet their site asks all customers to be polite and calm when dealing with them:mad::mad:. No sign of a refund - guess I'll just have to put this one down to experience. In future I will check blogs for feedback on companies I'm considering using.:mad:0
