We use an HP printer/scanner/fax/copier with our macs, they work wirelessly no problems, a place to try for inks is this, http://www.internet-ink.co.uk/ we have found them to be very reasonable considering the full price of HP inks also use code giveme10 for a 10% discount0

Woo-hoo! _party_   :T
I knew a Canon wouldn't let you down. :money:
So pleased to hear it all worked for you.
(Dinner must have been a tense meal, though!)
I looked into a PC World that I was passing, this afternoon, to take a look at the model of printer you bought and it looks to be a very nice piece of kit. I'm sure it will be brilliant for you and the online price for it, with collection in-store, was a very tasty deal.
As it happened, a Canon rep was in there today and I told him (in broad terms) your story - and my own tale of the wretched Epson I owned that was sent for summary execution in disgust, a few years ago.
We both had a good chuckle and I think he's finally talked me into buying a Canon 8800F scanner. I'm sick of borrowing my companion's trusty 8400F when I need to. Only thing that's been holding me back has been the problem of making desk space available for it.
You were a pleasure to assist - positive, constructive, coherent, clear-thinking and gracious (unlike so many). Most of the credit for achieving the right solution so quickly and efficiently goes to you: we just gave you some helpful pointers!
By the way, don't forget that it's probably come with a starter-pack of inks, not the regular-size tanks, so don't be dismayed if they don't last an age.
But Canon ink is reasonably priced.
Have fun!

Aww Leopard, what a lovely post! Thank you!
I have to say I am incredibly impressed with the Canon, as you say the web price was a brilliant deal. Its a great piece of kit, just plugged in and set up immediately unlike the Epsons. Added to that installing it as a wireless device was also very uncomplicated.
Print quality is excellent, and one of my favourite features is the fact that there is a paper cartridge and the unit is entirely sealed (the front automatically opens to print). I shall explain the reason I like that feature so much (and its a daft reason but hear me out lol), my daughter and I both have very long, very thick hair. If you believe my OH we lose half our bodyweight in hair a week and it tends to migrate towards electrical items due to the static. I felt like I was forever pulling hairs out of the body of the old printer, so being completely sealed has eliminated that
I still can't quite believe just how much hassle the whole process has been, and never again will I think Epson for a second.
Go for the scanner!
And thank you again0 -
