Returning a PC

Silly boy, blinded by the specs, I bought a MESH at the start of July.
Delivered two weeks after guide date, and didn't work.
Having checked monitor (and two others) aand cables (twice) I'm sick of the sight and have asked for a refund.
They're at the point of arranging collection, and I would like to confirm where I stand.
I STRONGLY suspect they're going to say "we found the problem, and we've fixed it" - and, frankly, I'm not interested. I've chased their phantom solutions from pillar to post, and I'm sick of the company. They've wasted weeks of my time due to a complete lack of quality control (in the first instance - sending out a non-working PC) or ability to take ownership.
So. Am I within my rights to refuse a repair? Please, someone - say "yes!"...

I'm not so sure that you are - if they have stated in their terms that they maintain the right to repair rather than refund, I'm fairly sure that you will have to accept it once repaired. Is this something that has been confirmed with you before the collection? ie did they say 'if we can repair it then we will send it back to you' or 'if it can't be fixed then we will refund you' or 'if it can't be fixed then we will send you a new one' etc?
If not then I would advise you have that conversation before they pick it up - just so both sides know where they stand.0 -
If it didn't work from the start, and you let them know right away, this could be considered a rejection of the goods, which would entitle you to a refund.
If you left it even as little as a few days before saying anything, this could be considered as acceptance (a computer would generally be used right away and tested) and they can repair. It's a little grey area in the law, which is why most shops give you 14/28/30 days to change your mindSquirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
The reason it's been so long to return is I've been following their suggestions on likely cause. In theory, they've also cost me the price of a DVI cable. However, I've got a home for it, so not fussed.
Just want my money back. Thanks all for the help & opinions.0 -
Ps - even you, Halloway, you funny beggar....
You always been a "yes" man?

MESH always have and always will be a pathetic excuse for a PC company.
It wasn't so long ago that all the directors changed. Tak a look through google.
The bloke that ran Time/Tiny into the ground took over.
That should say it all really

It all depends on the fault and so on now.
You may be able to push for a replacement but I would be very surprised if you can get money back now.
Tbh you need to wait and see what they say.
Rubbish, http://whatconsumer.co.uk/returning-damaged-or-faulty-goods/ as it has never been fit for purpose a refund is reasonable, of course you can refuse a repair. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Cheers, Woody. Wish I'd known about the director thing before I bought one...0

That info came to light last year when they were using a dodgy company to do all their repairs and warranties.
Many people did not receive their PC's back. When some of them went to the factory where the work was 'supposed' to be carried out, the door was locked with an administrators notice on the door.
No-one got their machine back without a costly fight.
3 guesses who was the director of the repair firm aswell......
MESH..........i would rather vote for Abu Hamza as the next Prime Minister than buy from them.0
