    Hi

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this discussion. I have seen quite a cross reference of people who either condone or condemn the practice of shill bidding.

Thanks to paul_h for posting the auctionpix webpage. Very good way for people to check out a seller.

Personally I don’t think eBay care to much about shill bidding or any other practice that is detrimental to auction integrity. Just as long as the ££ or $$ roll in. They win on all counts listing fees, final fees, and paypal fees. In all eBay / PayPal have about 10% of the total amount you receive in fees. I wish that we had other mainstream alternatives to the auction giant.

Ive found the auctionpix website doesnt work - I had a case of being in a ebay auction with shill bidding (found out after I won) - auctionpix didnt show my multi buys nor the shillers multibuys

ebay banned both the seller and their shiller, the original seller was banned for a fortnight and is now back on ebay and appear to be back to their old shilling tricks (they appear to have created a new account the day of their banning and bought / sold lots of cheapo items very similar to the original seller) and are now bidding

so yeah - ebay dont give a stuff - i do wonder exactly what their employees do - as they want us to do all their dirty work
See the stars they’re shining bright

I watched a item, but the bidding went too high. Then it was relisted. Item number. 7764996068

I checked the winning bidder through advanced search option and I suspected shilling.

Now the highest bidder on the relisted item no: 7766655907 did an advanced search again, seems as though they shill for this seller aswell.

I have two regular buyers on ebay, so it's hard to tell and I would hate to be accused of shilling if by bidders did advanced searches on my items

    What do you think?
