all these stc adverts??

I'm looking at buying in the near future, no chain, 75% deposit etc... i've sold my business and just waiting for the last payment to be made to myself. i'm ready to go! I look at rightmove every now and again to see what's available, then i started looking at ea's own websites.

There's pages and pages of properties that fit my criteria (4bed detached etc.) three quarter's of them seem to be 'sstc'. Surely if you buy a property then you want it off the market asap! I read alot of these sales are falling through, If i was buying one of these properties and someone came in with a higher offer that what i've had accepted because of one of these adverts i would be quite miffed!!!

Are these EA's doing it to make their websites look full of properties??? its getting quite annoying

One of our local EAs puts properties on and off rightmove to make it look like they do more. Property Bee will show you lots of the strange things that happen, but not all.

When a property appears as new on rightmove and is SSTC I know the ea is playing silly.

agreed, I would want any property I was buying off the website. however in practice it doesn't matter so much if it's off the website, what really matters is that they are not showing it to new people, since realistically no one is going to offer on it without having seen it.

yes - there is a shortage of properties on the market at the moment.

of course if you register with the agent as a keen, ready to go buyer then they ought (in theory ) to send you any new properties that come onto their books and you wouldn't have to look at the websites.

  • i've registered with most of the local Ea's- but i've got nothing to do in my lunch hour so i have a gander every now and again

Also it's annoying to see on rightmove all the new properties being regurgitated as new properties.

1 of my local ea has 25 separate 4bed detached properties 21 of them are sstc!!! ridiculous!!
