In the light of today's economic climate & lets face it all of us struggling to make ends meet. I thought I would post this thread in the hope to make you all smile.

Hello,
I firstly must say how delighted I was to find I could order from you direct through your website. I wanted to order a charm bracelet & six charms for delivery this week.
Could not believe my eyes when your website then says"Your Shopping Bag contains too many items. Please note that you can have a maximum of 6 items in your Shopping Bag. "
Is this a joke do you want my order or not?
My husband & I have spent an hour of our time putting an order together. Your site now wont accept it because we have ordered to many items.
A very strange way to behave in today's economic climate don't you think?
Yours totally baffled

Swarovski.com...Their Reply
Dear Ms Waller,
Thank you for your e-mail. Unfortunately it’s only possible to order a maximum of 6 items per online order.
We really hope for your understanding.
Mit freundlichen Grüssen, best regards

Oh Well I Give Up!!!!
Dear Katja Jerosch,
No I do not understand.
Appears Swarovski don't want the order. As a potential customer I am surely in my right to order as little or as much as I wish. Your only concern should be that you receive cleared paid immediately.
I will be taking my business elsewhere. I can't be bothered with a company who clearly can't be bothered to serve its customers.

Soo...why not just do two orders?!0

Do they charge for delivery? If so, more than one order to get what you wanted wouldn't be fair now ... regardless, I don't think I'd be too pleased if I couldn't order in one hit though.0

I guess its to stop people buying a load of stuff on their website using a stolen card.
I got stuck buying 5 mobile phones for family and had to buy them over three days from Tesco website due to them not selling you more than 2 a time (and no more than 5 a month!)0 -

Yes this would have been the answer! With free delivery over £50 & a charm bracelet consisting of 7 items I could have done a few orders...what the hell.
Its the company's total lack of how shall I say...wanting an order! Hear was me thinking retailers were finding it a challenge to sell in today's economic climate.
When I emailed them there is the facility to request for someone to telephone me. At least this way I thought in my dream world they would ring me and take the order over the phone......Oh how wrong can I be!
Never mind....it leaves an opening for the company's out there wanting to serve their customers.
Thanks for your thoughts, have a fab day :rotfl:0 -
Hello Joellesky
Thanks for your thoughts on this. Yes, I could of done more than one order. What a pain though. I'm sure it should be Swarovski trying hard to get orders (not me trying hard to beat their system to place one)....Perhaps they have plenty of ordering customers, so don't need to try!
Have a good day...its a sunny one!:j0 -
So which was easier: placing two orders, or e-mailing a few times then writing a post here?
I am not very familiar with the sort of market in which Swarovski operates but I'd imagine that experience has taught them that larger orders are more problematic, particularly as (I assume) their items are high value. It's probable that the vast majority of their orders are for single items and it's simply too risky for them to accept large orders.
But, FWIW my view on all this is... meh.0 -

Interesting point, admittedly I hadn't thought of that.
I probably would have been less irritated if the order restriction was due to the company's efforts to filter out credit card fraud. The reason could have been politely explained. Instead in red I get " "Your Shopping Bag contains too many items. Please note that you can have a maximum of 6 items in your Shopping Bag. "
I asked Swarovski to ring me but guess what...nothing!
Perhaps its a simple case of when a company gets to big they get complacent & feel they no longer have to try to get orders.
Thanks for your thoughts on this.....have a fab day:T0 -

Very Very Very True.............( although I must say this is very easy....productive debate is always good!);)
I am customer who will not be railroaded........Perhaps I am old fashioned.
A charm bracelet would naturally consist of more than one item & order value was no more than £250.00.
I have two successful retail businesses myself....Spending every second of every day bending over backwards to make sure my customers get what they are looking for presented & delivered the way they expect.
In today's awful economic climate my customers could decide to stop buying at any time! So in my world the reality is Swarovski did not deserve my order!
What is easier for me is immaterial to the standards & respect we all deserve as retail buying customers.
Thanks for your imput. Enjoy your day:p0 -
It is probably something to do with fraud - however it is far nicer that they say you can only have 6 items in your bag rather than say "we can only supply you with 6 items in case you are trying to scam us." It may also be order value and the cost of insuring items to be sent via mail/courier. I personally would just have put 2 orders in and agreed, the response they sent you wasn't very good, but it came from Germany and your message could have been lost in translation sounding even more sarcastic than you intended and so they just gave you the stock answer.0

Wish you were one of my customers you sound very easy to please!;)
Order was only aprox £250.00.Special delivery insures up to £500.00 & would have cost them aprox £5.00 to send.
There stock answer was their loss. Never mind.
Enjoy the sun...have a great day:p0
