Yesterday, I opened up the PC to install a PCI wireless card which went fine and I also updated the drivers for the graphics card.
Since then everytime I startup the PC, the fan is much louder than it usually is but it does stop about 1 minute after I've logged in. Also I've noticed it's a little bit louder than it usually is, I think it is the hard drive, this is when I am on it, before it was so quiet.
I think I could have updated the drivers wrong because afterwards when I logged in, every time a pop up message would appear about it, but then I uninstalled Catalyst control centre and the pop up went.
The computer is only a year old, maybe its time to clean the inside?
I am about to defrag now.
Anyone got any ideas (PC is dell 530, graphics card ATI HD3650)
Thanks, since I am not used to the noise it's giving me a headache!!!!

Have you secured the case on correctly or screwed the card tight, the fan can cause vibrations through the case which a loose panel can be a real racket. Case panels are notorious for being difficult to put back after you open the case.Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740

the disk defrag seems to have sorted the noise while it's running. I haven't restarted yet. I am sure I put it on correctly.
Can anyone help me with the drivers? The screen goes black then going normal but saying there has been a problem with the display drivers? This has happened about 4 times since yesterday.0 -
It is still noisy on startup (the fan)0

Fans usually kick in at start up quite loud my old laptop was reviewed as Sounds like a jet turbine on start up. what is your desktop standing on? sometimes shifting it on the desk and not putting it back exactly sets up loud noises with the fanSurvey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740
