I too have received a letter promising many pennies (around £1600) - they traced me after 2 home moves. I contacted them twice by email and once by phone - all seems very above board so I'll send in the paperwork and see what comes about...... could be handy for Xmas !!

Hi there i recieved a letter in this mornings post from georgeson the pavillion bridgewater road bristol bs99 6ab also a phone number which didnt work .The letter said that the person they seemed to think was me may be entitled to an outstanding cash settlement following the conversion of a building society to a public limited company.
I am not in a building society they asked me to contact them but the number did not work someone else on this site had wrote they had one of these letters and that address also was not correct.they also gave an option to post it back stating your previous address and telephone number they are up to some sort of scam.
Just thought i would warn others. Wonder how serious the police take this just in case anyone involved in this scam happens to see this.

This is not a scam. I believe that Georgeson are trying to locate missing/shareholders who have an entitlement due to them. This may be via means of calling or writing to possible people with the same name as you or to neighbours. The best thing would be to call and speak to them and get them to confirm this to you directly.
