Bank Accs for Poor Credit people

Asking this question on behalf of a family member.
He has a business account, however they charge him mega if he goes over his balance etc. He no longer has his own business and has full time employment.
He was close to losing his house 2-3 years ago (so has bad credit history).
Is there any accounts out there for people with bad credit that allow direct debits and also wages to paid from/ into? Or should he just stick with his business account?!
Thanks :T

Try a basic bank account. Here is a list of them to choose from: http://www.moneymadeclear.fsa.gov.uk/pdfs/bank_accounts.pdf0

Do they allow direct payments and things like that though?0
