Moving house - dual fuel help needed
Hi there, I am moving house and have been advised that the house is set up with Southern Electric duel fuel (who I do NOT want to stay with) and have been told that I must set up first with them.....is this correct? I can then switch but when trying to do comparisons, I'm not sure which details I should enter, my old post code and usage or new post code? Can anyone adv me what would be the best or cheapest duel fuel option for the glasgow area? Sorry for rambling, I'm new to this. Many thanks

If it is a similar size house, same number of people living there, same style heating (number of rads) etc, you could enter your old kWh figures for gas and electric in a switching site such as energyhelpline as a reasonable guide. Obviously using your new postcode, don't use your monthly DD figure as this will not give you an accurate result.0

As soon as you move in and use any electricity/gas you have entered a legally binding demed contract with Southern electric. However you can then apply to switch to the supplier of your choice.
If you are adamant you are not going to use Southern Electric you can instruct the previous occupants to get gas and electricity diconnected when they move out. You can then arrange for your supplier to re-connect.
However that process will take several weeks before you can use the house.0 -
too late, we've unfortunately taken the keys of the house already and didnt know who they were with until yesterday .0

Make sure you call the current suppliers with the readings you took when you moved in to ensure the outgoing occupiers took correct readings as you will be charged for anything used after that up until you change supplier.too late, we've unfortunately taken the keys of the house already and didnt know who they were with until yesterday .0
