i purposely never watch trailers or read reviews, that way its always a total surprise and i have no level to compare it against

people on here often say "it's not what i thought it was going to be" - i think 99% of the time its because people have made a judgement of what the movie is going to be like based on other peoples opinions...

but, that's just me, and i like surprises :) i've only seen two movies which i thought were a waste of time, 'i love you phillip morris' and another movie i left before it ended cos we were so bored

Hear hear!! If my OH and I had read the reviews or watched the trailers we would not have gone to see this film. As it is, we both enjoyed it!
  • This is one of the most friendliest threads on MSE, and Poochface is a big contributor to this thread, not only in terms of maintenance of this friendliness, but also codes, etc. I'd be here all day if I attempted to list every contribution she makes. She goes out of her way to help out both new and seasoned users of the cinema thread.

If the OP is struggling with such a friendly thread, I would throw caution to them not to venture out into other parts of MSE.

All of the users of this thread share a common passion for movies and helping one another share that passion. Let's keep it that way, please.

I wasnt questioning her contribution to this thread she has helped me in the past! All i was saying was that i was new and i thought when i was giving tickets away i could post on their as i would be halping someone else to get tickets! Its an easy mistake to make! Oh and as for olliegirl when your just plain and utterly rude with a bad attitude!! I know ppl can access the internet by other means but it was due to the fact that i got a reply straight back from poochface that i thought she obviously had access to the internet so in future keep your sarcky nosy comments to yourself thanks!!
!!! for being supplied with codes that is not true! i have search the internet looking for new codes to post on hear and if you could take the time to read further up the page (which obviously you don't) i have asked on where i can find these codes so i can help the likes of yourself! i don't see you posting any codes?
There must be some newbies to MSE who have found that they get a nasty reply when posting on the cinema thread codes only when it would just be better to ask or tell us nicely where we are going wrong! Instead i feel like i am in school being shouted at by the headteacher!

Hey guys, just want to a say a massive thanks to all those that have contributed to the movie thread and supplied us with codes. I used to get invited to screenings a lot in the past but only through friends who have gotten tickets through their companies. I didn't even know there a thread dedicated to them! In the space of 3 weeks i have managed to attend 4 screenings and 2 of that was Karate Kid... and i'm going again to see that movie this sunday but with my family! That movie was surprisingly good and on each occassion i've watched it with different people. Can't wait for sunday as haven't been to the movies with my family for a good 2 years!! Woah... :j

Aww, sorry Kimmy, i did have a pair of tickets for it tonight but couldn't make it so gave it to my friend instead earlier this morning. :( Hope you find your ticks soon.

You got to be fast for these tickets.....keep trying for Karate Kid at Uxbridge or Hatfield but no luck!!!

I'm signed up with See Film First etc but never seem to get invites directly, have I forgotten to tick a box somewhere or is it all very random!!!

  • I have just managed to secure 8 tickets for a showing on Sunday...will the cinema allow me and 7 kids in on two tickets in my name?

FYI the 7 kids aren't all mine!!!
