BT Wiring going into NTL BOX?

I currently have a BT line & thinking of switching to Virgin. I notice that the BT cabling inside the house is going into a NTL white box. When I moved in I had a new BT line install. I remember the installer mentioning that he would run the Bt white cable into the NTL white Box as "they do it all the time" In fairness he did not charge me for the install.;)
I'm a little concerned that he might have done something 'dodgy' & Virgin would not be best pleased. This is preventing me from getting Virgin phone/Broadband etc.
Thanks
john

John, virgin tv & BB comes off the same 'cable' connection through the wall. So you split it off the tv coax.
Unsure about the telephone cable, but im sure that if you get virgin installed, they would put a clean install in as its faster than finding faults etc.0
