I'm using one of these:

It works very well, but its assembly was a bit fiddly, and you need to be very careful when screwing the various sections of coax cable together to feed the fine centre wire through the hole in the matching socket, so as to make the appropriate contact.0 -
Also try shortening the aerial a bit and setting it at an angle - if there is a signal quality display available on your , use that to help. String aerials are useless by the way.
The BBC (and the car/car radio manufacturers) have really let us down with the false promise of digital radio - my DAB also won't work properly in the kitchen so the good old FM one stays there and the bedroom has the house's only DAB radio in it..0 -
Also bear in mind that, with the coming changeover to digital TV some of the DAB transmitters (which share the transmitter with digital TV) have been either at reduced strength, or intermittent, or off-air completely at various times over the last year or so, to let the necessary engineering conversion take place. For several months I could only get a decent DAB signal in the bedroom too, but I'm happy to say that since July everything is back to normal, and I get good reception all over the house.
