Help Required for Booking a Large Family Holiday

I am looking for a Holiday location for 4 kids and 2 adults. I would like to know what is the best and cheapest way of going about booking a holiday. I have noticed that most holiday packages don't accommodate for this size of family. I don't really mind the location but am looking to get away in late June or early July for a week or fortnight.

Regards

I agree that the most frustrating thing is that there are no large family rooms - it puts me off booking a holiday as we would all have to be in different rooms. Some of the camping holidays in France and Spain have large static tents (all mod cons) with 3 bedrooms.. this would be a relatively cheap option and would kep you all together. Are your children school age? Its a bit dodgy taking children out of school where we live ..it just not an option!
I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes ;)

Yes My children are at school but won't be in school at the beginning of July due to our local school Holidays.

I have been told that a villa might be an option but am not sure if this true.

villas and appartments can be a cheap spacious option for bigger families...or families of any size! Would not be tempted to go a package deal to a hotel now..sharing with two teenagers is no fun!!
try booking direct with owners for best deals. You'll probably have better luck....smaller villas etc always book up first ;)

Have to say my first thought would be to check out flight prices first...especially when you will need 6 seats. We often look for cheap flights first and then look for accomodation....there is always plenty accomodation. cheap flights are harder to come by.

Or if you can drive/take ferry i'd recommend the centre park like type places in holland. again book direct for best deals.

Last year we booked an apartment viw the net in Cap Salou for me and my partner and four children. We prebooked a MPV taxi from the airport to the apartment. The flights were via easyjet. We saved a packet on the package cost, I think the cost in total was about £1500 excluding spends

Definitely the best way to go

check out canvas / eurocamp / keycamp / siblu etc

they do tents / mobile homes which cater for larger families

some of them have offers on at the mo ,and a lot of them include ferry crossing in the price

they have sites in france but also spain / italy / holland etc

most of them have kids clubs and pools etc onsite to keep them entertained but it also tells you on the websites what things there are to do in the locality too if you want to venture out of the site :)

You can book similar flights from LIVERPOOL TO REUS 6 Jul to 20 July for £455
    or
Liverpool to GIRONA (handy for Costa Brava ie Lloret,L'estartit,Callella,Malgrat,Santa Susanna,Blanes etc) similar dates for around the same money.

BLACKPOOL TO GIRONA 11 July to 25th is only £360
