Acer Aspire One Blue Screen

Hello,

Ive got a Acer Aspire one on Linux. When I press the on button instead of it booting up it starts then goes to the blue screen & should then come on but it stays on the blue screen.

Any Ideas on how to get past this blue screen so it boots up properly. Thanks :D

    Hello,

Sorry its taken me so long to get back to this. I switch it on & the usual black screen with writing comes up then it goes to a blue screen with a white line & the words Acer Aspire One.

Now this should do this but then it should carry on & boot up but it dosen't just stuck on this blue screen.

    Any Ideas

Is there anything important stored on it? You may need to reinstall the operating system, which will probably result in the deletion of personal data.

Was a recovery disc supplied with the machine?

No there is nothing on it. I just keep it as a spare when my big lappy gets sick.

I think it did come with a disk but it hasn't got a disck player thingy to put it into because its a small netbook.

It runs on Linux I don't know what SSD or HDD is I have little knowledge of computers :o

  • Try https://www.aspireoneuser.com It covers all aspects of this netbook (I have one myself),

I am sure that there will be some answers.

If you don't have an external disc drive, you can also use the disc in another computer to copy the recovery system to a USB flash drive. The video here describes the process quite well, though as explained elsewhere on the page it's a somewhat risky endeavour.

Personally, I recommend that you not bother with the recovery DVD at all and install something else on there instead.
