I received my PIN on Saturday and Santander haven't even done a credit search at all....

EDIT: Just checked my cards I wanted to BT from and the BTs have gone through which means I must have gotten an OK limit!

I still don't have a card though lol

    Thanks for the helpful advice.

This was the first time I ever completed the balance transfer info at application stage. Won't be doing it again in a hurry. I can't help suspect they have given many would be borrowers with good credit ratings a £500 limit just to make a bit of money on the 3 mths 0% spend running out.

If anyone else has a similar experince please share.
I had the same thing happen to me last year but with HSBC.Had an unsolicited letter advising me I had been pre approved for a £5000 credit limit on an 0% deal, sent off the application and asked for a £1500 BT ( I had a short term cash flow situation) the card arrived with a £1000 credit limit, called and asked why but was told the computer sets the limits.I have a good /excellent credit history so told them to forget it and just cancel the application, the short term cash flow sorted itself out and i will never apply for anything from HSBC again.
