Does anyone remember cremola?

Options
My mum used to cook me Cremola, similar texture to Semolina but a different taste. She made it with milk in a saucepan and then I'd sprinkle some sugar on it and it was yummy, warming and filling in the winter months and cheap!!

Is it still available anywhere???

    Hi cotsvale,

I don't think it's still available but I found this recipe to make it yourself.

  • Here's me thinking Cremola Foam - the stuff you mixed with water to make a gutt bustin, tooth rotting drink.

    Those milky puds sound fab.
Don't try to keep up with the Joneses - Drag them down to your level - it's cheaper . :p:D

Used to love this - I make a "version" in the same way as rice pudding - 2 tblsps ground rice, 2 tblsps sugar, a pint of milk and dot with butter, grate nutmeg on the top. If you want it slightly creamier you can use a tin of evaporated milk made up to a pint with water.

EDIT: I see there's a similar version with custard powder, started off like custard and finished off like rice pudding... hmmm.... have to give that a try!

(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...

Foamy stuff - I remember drinking it just after having my adenoids out and it all came frothing out of my nose like some sort of horror film

Yes, I even had a Cremola badge from saving tops / coupons, can't remember now, so far back

Still got my Golly badge as well

  • Yes I remember it as well with a big dollop of jam in the middle, I too had a badge from the packet tops .

If the jam is homemade blackberry, and it always was in our house, it turns the Cremola purple !
