Oh Lordy, I would love so much to go an ice-cream, Greek joghurt and mayonnaise diet, I really would. By the way, if you like peanut butter you could ring the changes and pop round to the health food shop and check out cashew butter, it's ambrosia. Mmmmmmm, Greek joghurt, honey and chopped nuts. I have a hankering now0

You are probably too young to remember Twiggy in the sixties.... I used to make her look fat!
I tried to put weight on by all sorts of means... nothing worked and I had to accept in the end that my metabolism was different. Ten years after that and alot more since - I would now like to be like Twiggy!
Everyone is different and you have to accept that you are the way you are, my youngest son is very slim and he eats a huge amount, but due to job and the way he is, he can't sit still for five seconds, he is always on the go. You obviously burn off your calories easily. Try and learn to love yourself the way you are - you'll be grateful in a few years or so - tho I know you can't see that right now.Genie

I'm in this position for the first time in my life! I have always battled to lose weight - at 5ft5 I was over 12st (probably nearer13) at my highest weight. Over the last year I have dropped down to 8st7, which I found perfect for my build, and as low as I wanted to go - gave me a buffer to 9st if I ate/drank too much.
In the last few weeks my life has been very stressful, total lifestyle change etc, and I am now at 7st10, waaaay too low! To add to the problem, the stress is leaving me constantly nauseus so i don't even WANT to eat (tho I am). I figure for the short term I'm best to just eat what I fancy and can get down me, currently pizza most days, and worry about the health side once I stop feeling sick.0 -
Please help me. I want to gain weight because our family doctor said that at my age 20 I'm only 110lbs, I'm underweight. But I'm trying my best to eat anything to help me gain fast, or even take some vitamins but still it didn't work! Anybody?
If your GP recommended this then they should have sent you away with a healthy eating plan to help you to do it correctly with no detriment to your health or referred you to a dietician who can help you to plan based on your personal body shape, metabolism, cholesterol levels etc...
I think it's irresponsible to send you off just recommending that you put on weight.
I would go back to your GP and ask for either of the above.
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -

I know how stress and anxiety can make you feel: I've been there. If you can't face solid food maybe a drink would be be more appealing. I went on Complan but some of the sports power-shake things might be an idea. The weight-loss is a concern but you need to concentrate on getting your full quota of vitamins and minerals plus enough protein0 -

Hadn't thought of Complan - strangely as I have used it for stress weightloss before, so thanks. I'm drinking lots - tea and coffee with milk, of course, but soups and stuff as well. I'm taking a multivit daily (don't usually bother) and just hoping this 'awful' feeling passes soon as my new life begins to feel 'normal'.0
