help please, dogital camera picture transfer not working

hello,

i would like some help if poss i am trying to get some pictures from my camera to pc (for ebay sale) some of my pictures are transfering but the latest ones i took are not going on.
when it gets so far all i'm left with is a grey box with a zig zag line through it whats this mean?

i done it before so i do know how to.

be very great for any help

This might mean that the data is corrupt, if your camera has a memory card, try to drag and drop from the card, without using the camera's bundled software.

Can you describe the grey box a little better or even better put up some screen shots.

eyeinthesky-it has got a memory card in but i'm unsure how to drag or even where to drag to and from?
i did uninstall the software and reinstall and it seemed like it was working faster but just not the last few pictures.

diselhead-cant really think of how to describe it better sorry, just that its a square (where pic is suppose to be) and the zig zag line goes from top to bottom.

Put your memory card into a card reader, or memory card slot if your pc has one. You may get an autoplay dialogue box appear, and if so, choose open folder to view files. This will probably show nested folders, just open them until you get to the pictures, then click on the picture you want and, holding down the mouse button, drag the picture onto the desktop and let go of the mouse button. If you have your pictures folder open, or any folder, you can drop them in there.
If no autoplay box appears when you insert the card, or card reader, then open my computer and you should see an icon for the memory card/ card reader. Double click this and carry on as above. Hope this helps.

oh wow thank you for this ive not got a card reader but will have a look at pc to see if i have a slot.
when suggested my software could be the problem would this be the case even tho i have reinstalled it?and when i did i didnt use my cd which came with the camera i used kodak software

Hi Crystal, glad you were able to transfer your pictures:j, but not so sure I can answer your question. It is possible that some other software is affecting your camera's supplied software, such as firewall, antivirus etc, or even a recent windows update.
For what it's worth, I never use the bundled software for downloading my photos. In fact, I uninstalled both Kodak's and Canon's from my previous laptop, and have not bothered to install on this one. I find that the method I suggested to you is so much faster, more reliable and more convenient for me. I always drag and drop the photos, which leaves the original on the memory card, then I just delete these when I am sure I no longer need them.

hi, well you could be right im not sure if it is anti virus etc i'll prb never no either :rotfl:.
but from now on i will be doing it your way as like you said it's much faster and easier.
