Question about reclaiming charges

This might be the wrong board since it is actually about my former mortgage account.

I had a lot of issues when I had my last mortgage and became unemployed PPI didn't pay out got into a lot of arrears and therefore charges for letters and late payments etc.

I ended up borrowing £19500 and paying back over £23000 despite it being 7 or 8 years later.

Under the reclaiming charges rule, can I reclaim all the charges the mortgage company charged me (not least since their PPI didn't cover my unemployment in the first place)?

I'd reclaim the PPI since as you said, it didn't or wouldn't have covered you in the first place. Have a look at the PPI part of the forum.

defo going to claim the PPI thanks . Was just curious about whether I could claim the £4+ grand that I got charged for late payments etc during the term of the mortgage.

Yes you can reclaim the late payment charges on the mortgage - just not any ERC. same process as for loans and credit cards.
