How many TEMP folders are there, in XP, and where?

Hi,

I'm getting help, elsewhere, regarding a persistent 'keylogger' and have been advised to run TFC - Temp File Cleaner by Old Timer to clear everything in my 'Temp' folders.

I don't know much about this, but I want to check if there is anything I might like to retrieve before I blitz everything.

The only one I've found, by random searching, is this:
C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Local Settings\Temp
which I also eventually found by:
Start > Run > "%Temp%" > [OK]

This is what the TFC description says:

TFC (Temp File Cleaner) will clear out all temp folders for all user accounts (temp, IE temp, java, FF, Opera, Chrome, Safari), including Administrator, All Users, LocalService, NetworkService, and any other accounts in the user folder. It also cleans out the %systemroot%\temp folder and checks for .tmp files in the %systemdrive% root folder, %systemroot%, and the system32 folder (both 32bit and 64bit on 64bit OSs). It shows the amount removed for each location found (in bytes) and the total removed (in MB). Before running it will stop Explorer and all other running apps. When finished, if a reboot is required the user must reboot to finish clearing any in-use temp files.

TFC only cleans temp folders. TFC will not clean URL history, prefetch, or cookies. Depending on how often someone cleans their temp folders, their system hardware, and how many accounts are present, it can take anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or more. TFC will completely clear all temp files where other temp file cleaners may fail. TFC requires a reboot immediately after running. Be sure to save any unsaved work before running TFC.

It sounds like there are more than the one Temp folder.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Ccleaner will sort it out, If you try the manual way you will be there forever trying to find them all.

I do have CCleaner, but wasn't aware it erased all the locations mentioned above - I read somewhere there was a sort-of add-on to CCleaner to make it more aggressive; sort of how it was originally, apparently, but I didn't want to erase anything 'till I'd had a look through the files.

When I looked in C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Local Settings\Temp, it looked almost empty and yet my 'C:' drive has filled pretty quickly, despite using CCleaner for nearly two years.

So, whatever I find in ...Local Settings\Temp is all there is?
