Anyone flown Continental recently?

I booked a flight to the US on Continental. It seems their baggage policy is pretty convoluted and continuously changing. My ticket was issued on 19 Aug.
We are flying to Newark, a couple of days and then down to Florida. Week there and on to San Fran before flying home from San Fran via Newark.
The flights are all on one ticket.
I can't figure out if we will need to pay a checked baggage fee for the domestic flights. Internationally, I think we are ok so the flight out and returning home appears to be 2 bags checked free (their policy has just changed so that the second bag is now charged for!).
However, given that we are starting and finishing in Europe - despite stopovers of up to a week - will we be charged for checking in bags for the domestic flights? The website is massively confusing. I've emailed Continental without any response.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I flew with them in April to Newark, then internally on to Pittsburgh, and didn't have to pay extra for the luggage for the internal flight. The ticket was Bristol to Pittsburgh, so don't know if this makes any difference. Give them a call to check. Once I'd found the UK customer services number, they were very helpful.0

We flew Gatwick via Newark to Las Vegas stayed 5 nights.
Then Las Vegas to Boston.
If you're flights are all on one ticket I really don't think you'll pay a checked baggage fee for the internal flights. We didn't.0 -
Tozer,
Unfortunately you will have to pay for your luggage on your internal flights fro EWR to Florida and Florida to SFO.
The reason the 2 posters above didn't, is because they have 1 whole ticket, and were flying at the same time as their TATL leg. As you're staying in NYC for a bit, and then moving on, you are stuck with having to pay.
Your final trip from San Fran to Home, you will be able to check in bags free of charge, as it is a TATL flight overall, so it's just the EWR to Florida, and Florida to SFO legs that you're going to have to pay.
So, how much?!
$15 for first bag if booked online, $20 if not
$25 for second bag if booked online, $30 if not.

Cheers mate. That's what I feared. Their policy seems really confused - since booking our tickets on 16 Aug they have introduced a fee for a second checked bag.
Mobby - how come you didn't pay for the Las Vegas to Boston leg? Was it before they introduced the charges?0 -
Just found out from Continental that they will NOT charge for the domestic flights as our ticket starts and finishes in Europe. Confusing policy or what?0

we are flying with united london - la - las vegas - san fran - london staying a few days in each. united also have a policy for charging for internal flights baggage but don't charge on tickets that come from or are due to fly out of US within a certain time limit ( i think within a month but not sure ) . you should not be charged as your flight originates and ends outside US within that timescale.0

Seems all of the US airlines have such policies. Just wish they could understand it themselves.0 -
Have a great trip Tozer - I'll be interested to know what you think of Fishermans Wharf in San Francisco - to me it was the American equivalent of some chav seaside resort! I love everywhere else that you are going ... including the rest of SF!Gone ... or have I?0
