My point is; he has drawn their attention to the fact the data they hold against him is incorrect, surely it is their duty to investigate it fully else they would continue to be in breach of DPA rules and complaint could be lodged with the ICO or ombudsman.
Standard practice would be to refer the customer to the individual credit reference agency where a notice of correction could be added to the credit file.

The OP in this case clearly said "I admit I have had problems with credit in the past around 4-6 years". This leads me to believe there will still be stuff on the credit file.
Is it not good customer service to work with their customer to assist resolve this?
I would guess they have already told the customer where they got the data from.

And come on, in this specific case why would a member of staff working for any company feel the desire to "go the extra mile" to assist a customer who is clearly unpleasant?

Not always easy to do. When I had an error on my experion report they refused to change it and I had to go to the financial institution who claimed they had provided correct info and it was up to experion to correct their error.

To be honest, marching into a bank and expecting anything other than a cash account in a position like yours is a big ask.

I, too, have paid off all my debt, have no outstanding arrears, CCJs, or Defaults, but my credit score is still appauling because I have a history of managing credit very poorly.

I would not expect to be able to get a full current account until I'd had atleast two years flawless history on my credit file, AND banked with the bank I ask for an upgrade from already, for atleast a year, having run the account flawlessly.

I wouldn't expect a high-street credit card for another year or three, with a bare minimum of 36 months flawless history on my file.

Good luck getting back on the credit ladder, unfortunately it's going to be a bit more of an uphill climb than you were hoping for I'm afraid :o

Move your account; why stick with a bank that can't even get faster payments right ?

A bit too late, as I've left, Lokolo.

Just out of curiosity, how much can you send ?
I can do up to £10,000 at First Direct and up to £30,000 at Barclays.

A long time after Faster Payments was launched. And a long time after Lloyds launched it.

There's little to no excuse for Faster Payments not being up and running at the banks by now. The system was delayed a good while in order to allow the creases to be ironed out, so anything beyond that is just pure laziness.

It wasn't an excuse, I was just stating a fact.

No idea. I just transfer £100 or so, nothing more.
  • I wonder how you would feel if a FP payment of £30k had been taken out of your account and then transferred again never to be seen again fraudently??

How long have you been able to do 30k? Whenever I've tried to do transfers there's been a 10k transaction limit each day, can't even move a quid to another account on the same day
