I would avoid Acer laptops due to their poor build quality, customer service and cheep materials. Through my own experience with them and seeing others have said about them after owning one, you would be lucky to see it last more then a year.
Have a look at this one, same price but Toshiba

I was tempted by this myself, it's a good spec, 3gb ram, 250GB hdd, dual core processor (the acer being 4gb and 500GB hdd)0 -

That ones the same sort of layout as the Acer with your full size keyboard. And a massive HD screen by the looks of it LOL! But it weighs 3.2kg. where as the Toshiba one is only 2.5kg. Acer being 2.7kg0 -
Thank you jaffa she still fancys the acer but she like the dell too , i have the dell but not sure if its as good as the one you recomendResolve not to be poor, Whatever you have , Spend less.0

Well Dell have better build quality where as the Acer's do not.
I know the Acer might look pretty, but they use cheap plastics which crack under heat (and laptops get hot) I had an Acer where the screen broke off, turned out the hinges ceased up, I mean it still worked but I had to lean it up against a wall because all the plastics had shattered.
Another 'tip' if you like would be to avoid AMD processors in laptops as they tend to run hotter esp in HP/Compaq's because of a design fault.0 -
thank you
i will try and persued her to get the dell

If you use dell sign up to Top cashback love to give you my referral as I would get 2.50 lol but you get 6% cashback on the non VAT price
I got £30 off my £560 laptop a couple of months ago.
Quidco take £5 as fees from you , so TCB works out better
she can get a few colours of laptop for free on some laptops.Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740
