Rebuild costs - a matter of opinion?

According to the Loss Adjuster my Insurer "does not normally penalise for under insurance", and they have said they will pass on to the Insurer that the figures came from the valuation report. I have brought it to the attention of the insurers and they are going to investigate, and have also increased my cover just to be on the safe side, although it is making me wonder now if I am now over insured.
Thanks to everyone, for the advice. If there is any problem with the claim, I will contact the Ombudsman and see what they have to say.0 -

You have to exhaust your insurers formal complaints service before you go to the Ombudsman. But it's a very valuable free service.0
