where can I purchase camera accidental damage & repair insurance

Where can I get separate insurance for my under £300 pound compact camera? I don't want it on my house insurance. So for accidental damage, loss, stolen then I can get it fixed or replaced. Just like my mobile phone insurance.

Thanks

Why don't you want it on your contents insurance?

We have it on ours with Direct Line, and it barely cost anything more and covers virtually everything.

Buying a separate plan for one item isn't cost effective at all.

Just look how much extra you are paying for your mobile insurance over say 3 years.

Perhaps because the Excess on the OP's House Contents insurance, and the consequential loss of any no-claims discount on the annual premium in the event of an accident with the camera, would make this uneconomic.

My four pairs of spectacles are covered against accidental damage for a period of two years by an independent policy that cost me a total of £30 for two years. It paid out in full seven years ago when I broke a £330 frame in France (the lenses survived!) through my own carelessness - and the premium, then, had been only £15.

It's not necessarily an unwise investment!

Fair enough, I have 5 grands worth of camera equip, and the additional accidental cover was £20, all IT and hifi all covered as standard, but we have a good policy.

If you are with the Co-op, then you are covered for theft & accidental damage on cameras up to £500 even when out of the house. They also included my glasses & bike for nothing extra as well.
