Humax PVR-8000T freeview/hard disc recorder £75

Options
I picked up one of these for a bargain £75 in the QVC Outlet store in Shrewsbury (on the lower floor of the Darwin Centre). It's a 40 gig hard drive recorder with built in freeview, and has two scarts and audio out as well (no twin tuners so you can't record freeview and watch a different freeview channel at the same time, but for that price I'm not complaining!).

Don't know if there are any other QVC outlet stores across the UK?

I think there is also one in Warrington but other than that, I don't know of any.

Yes there is one in Birchwood Centre Warrington
  • The last time they were on the same offer, I went across to Birchwood and they had stopped the offer - back up to £130 then!

    Anybody confirm stock at Birchwood?

Remember - some of these items are re-packaged customer returns.

    Happy New Year Everybody!

    Great machines ... highly recommended.

Worth getting a second at that price and using as a twin tuner PVR with double capacity!! It's also worth considering that it is common for people to think the unit they buy is used and so complain/return them. The clear front panel has a very fine protective strip and so does the remote. Makes the front and the remote look used. These can easily be peeled off to reveal perfect finish!!

I wonder how many have been returned bedause of this? It's also easy to upgrade the HD. Mine has 160GB. The software is ROM based and so nothing except video data stored on HD.

I bought mine for £110 ish with various codes / offers at currys and that was a good price. With the cheapest freeview at 30 quid this is a bargain. I use my old freeview box should I have the need for watching something else while I record the other side.

Haven't upgraded that HDD as 40 Gb / 20 hrs seems plenty for now.

It's one of the best, and most used tecchy purchases I've ever made. If you are thinking about it. DO it :)

I doubt if there will be any left now.

The whole country can see this offer.

At £75 it is a bargain.

    I paid £149

I managed to get one of these too, just wondered if you have tried to record through one of the scarts - I was hoping to record Sky but can't seem to get it to work?
    Thanks, Mark.
