  • My local Delivery drive seems to have a contract with everyone from Amazon to Great universal ,He complianed last Xmas that he came to my door 5 times in 1 week.

Had the old "i'm not taking it up stairs routine" from one driver only he added a few swear words in.
So i complained and got the drivers discretion from Tesco's, but heard the driver got fired for Verbally abusing a customer.
What we do now for Grocery deliveries is to send the Children down to bring the things up we also check the order at the same time and everyone's happy

I do agree if your not able bodied you should be able to have a service to your door whatever floor.

I delivered to a lady who explained that she had just had a mastectomy and would I mind taking her ASDA shopping into the kitchen, she even showed me her scar!! Not a problem. Bottles and bottles of 2l pop placed on the kitchen worktop, loo rolls on top of the cupboards... that was fine. Until her son came into the kitchen!!! She then said how kind the ASDA lady was putting her shopping away!

I wasn't happy when I left but I did leave 20 minutes later with a cheery goodbye and wished her a speedy recovery (a VERY speedy recovery!!!)

Hey socks if your talking about me I'm as fit as a fiddle, it's that 17 kg parcel I'm dragging up the four flights of stairs that slows me down a bit.

I have been known to adjust my parcel to help a youngster resting on the 2nd floor up to their door on the fourth floor.;)

I believe Sainsburys were actually advertising *from the store to your kitchen* so to speak at one time and certainly all the deliveries I had from each of the large stores, the delivery person took them right into my kitchen, no problem.

I didn't know they advertised that but have to say that several times Sainsbury's drivers have asked if I want my shopping brought indoors.

Delivery to my door is fine but I do have a couple of steps at my door (dont a lot of people!) The normal routine is they plonk the crates on the step and hand the bags up to me and I dump them in vestibule. A couple of weeks ago a new driver plonked the crates on the step then told me I had to remove the bags myself. So I made him remove the crates from the step, take them half way back down the path so I could get at them then made a big fuss of only lifting out one bag at a time and carrying it back up the path to the vestibule. I've not seen him since...probably made a special request not to be sent to mine again! :rotfl:
