How to get money back from an ex?

Hi, I lent my ex nearly £3000 last year. He set up a direct debit to pay me off monthly which was fine until the payments stopped last month. The last payment in due in October and he owes me a remaining £750. I have statements to prove when I deposited the money, statements of payments I’ve received from him each month, as well as proof of correspondence.

What can I do??? Suggestions welcome!

If you have written evidence that he owes you the money, that it wasn't a gift (correspondence?) then you can take him to the small claims court. It isn't expensive and doesn't need a solicitor, and chances are he will cough up when he gets the summons.

    Good luck.

Threaten him with a 7 day payment demand and include the threat of small claims court.

If he doesnt cough up in the 7 days write to him to inform him that you are starting small claims court proceedings.

Wait 7 more days then do it.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
