I was also wondering what the criteria is for having a spam button; I've got one, but one member (Tulip) who has a higher post count than me and has been here longer doesn't have one...0

DT's one.MSE_Martin wrote: »Yep its the PS to my first post.
I'm not sure you've taken on board the point - Poppy is talking about the fact that it's a lot harder to report an individual post than it is to click the Spam button (if like me, you don't have an email client set up, and haven't got the patience to create an email to abuse using your webmail)
I'm totally in agreement on this one. These days I also post in threads pointing out a rogue post and asking other to report them. I used to report them... but I've lost the enthusiasm for it, it's just too much of a faff.MSE_Martin wrote: »PS I know some people are worried that deleted threads still appear in the "last post" section - that's just the way the softwares built - you wont be allowed to click through to it - and it will go as soon as someone posts another thread.
But thanks for answering the query which I know I raised when I spotted it:beer:

Could I ask over what period the 430 threads have been deleted please? The number does not mean anything by itself!Gone ... or have I?0

Since spam button became available to general users which i think was about two months ago but maybe longer - sure you can find a thread on it (and obviously there's been more since)Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

I noticed that when I logged on at about 8am.
I also noticed that out of the 18 separate spam threads posted on my boards, 17 had already been removed by people pressing the spam button.
So at least for me, it seems that the spam button is being quite successful and providing a valuable way to get rid of spam sooner rather than later.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Yep, that's it. I never click the Abuse button for individual posts, because all it does is fire up Outlook which is not configured for anything (I use web-based mail). If it could be like the Spam button rather than simply sending an email it would be much more useful.
Me too.
I have to go through my web-based mail, compose mail to report abuse. Annoyingly long winded but I do it anyway.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

In my experience it usually takes a few days for the abuse team to delete a thread or post if you use the abuse button. Hopefully the spam button will be more effective.0 -
