The O2 contract seems expensive. As an expert on phone tariffs (I do way too many mystery shops
) I think O2 are the dearest. When does contract end?

£425 bills is the basics, rent, food, gas, electric, 2 lots of water, council tax, house insurance, broadband, phone and tv licence.
Denplan I need as it's basically pay as you go dentist, otherwise it works out huge lump sum  each time I go to the dentist and if I need work done which I can't afford.
Pet insurance, he (dog) is 11 years old and has a tumour so has had loads of treatment and probably won't make it til Christmas so figure easier to just leave it, and Dad has now agreed to pay half
Specsavers is for contacts, future glasses and insurance.
Mobile phone, too expensive to go PAYG, cost way more than contract. That has been my average bill, line rental is only £20 a month and this month managed a £23 bill so will try and keep to the same.
Yeah, I need to get the train to uni, it's basically £15 a day return or £140 a month! And if I buy a 3 monthly one I save a little bit more so that's what I do when I get my student loan.
Credit card is around 2%, the limit is £2400.
Don't know APR on current account OD, this is the account I use everyday for bills and income etc.
Don't know APR on loan but finishes in September. I know I'm allowed to overpay though without penalty.
No chance of overtime as I'm full time at uni so with all the work there and working at the pub I'm squeezing myself as it is I've been working 16 hours a week. Although over Christmas I've asked for extra work so hopefully will get it as I'll be off from uni.
Got everything I can on eBay and in Friday Ad, changed up all the small change I had- £60 worth!!
I didn't know about that site! Shall sign up ASAP!
I do daily clicks, with EagerLearner's guide to approx £3 a day, also do surveys and mystery shopping!
I am looking around for a new contract for my mobile but I currently pay £20 a month line rental and get 500 texts and 600 minutes and I can't find a better deal at the moment.

I've put a bit in my other post about the phone contract.

Oh yeah, all totally worth it, last job was mega !!!!!! and caused me so many problems, and glad I did the travelling thing as I'm likely not to have a holiday now til probably 2013 or beyond!!! But I am now on my way to my dream career and loving uni.

Hey Hun,
How often do you go to the dentist? Is this something you could maybe do without for a year or so just to save yourself the money for a short while?
Have you looked at buying your contacts online, seems quite an expense per month, or just wear your glasses, and not buy contacts for a while?
Only other thing I can suggest is seeing if you can get a better deal with the train ticket, i.e buying in advance online, do you have a young persons rail card?
Thats about all I can think of to shave money off, else its just increasing your income via the sites etc
Good luck hun xxWealth is not measured by currency0 -
One other thought, do you use all of your allowance every month on your phone?
Just saw a SIM only deal on TMobile, £15 a month and get 350 minutes and 650 texts.
I know its less minutes than you get at the moment, but its £5 less a month, and more texts...
Or there is also one for £20 a month and you get 600 minutes and unlimited texts, which would work out a better deal if you use a lot of texts..Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

False economy! How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
I guess once you're on the books with a dentist, best to stay there, you never know how long it will take to find another....Wealth is not measured by currency0

I have spoken to Specsavers and they're going to reduce it to £8 a month so long as I don't have the solutions, which is fine as I have got loads!
Train ticket, I have a young person's railcard but I can't use it on a season ticket because they're already offering me a massive discount. If I got a ticket each day it would cost me £76.50 a week, therefore £306 a month, so my amount of £140 a month is a lot less. A young person's railcard also has a minimum fare before a certain time which is no good to me as I get the train at 8am each day.
That's what I thought, just got to carry on with the clicks and mystery shopping I think, oh well. It'll all be worth it in the end!!
