Can you put microwave on top of freezer?

We have just had our new kitchen fitted, and to free up worktop space I am thinking of sitting the microwave on top of the freezer - microwave would sit directly on top of freezer itself, not on a worktop or shelf (freezer is under-worktop size, but not actually under a worktop).
We were planning to get microwave brackets but now due to electrical channeling in wall we would not be able to screw the brackets in to the wall in correct place.
Does anyone know if it is ok to put the microwave directly on top of a freezer - any issues with heat/cooling etc?
Many thanks for any advice

I've had the microwave on top of the fridge freezer for ages now, and never given it a second thought. As long as you leave plenty of ventalation at the back (ie: a few inches), I can't imagine there being a problem.Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.0

mines on top of the fridge - but i wouldnt think twice about putting it on top of freezer. micros dont get so hot as normal ovens and freezers well insulated. if you are still worried can you not put the micro on top of a heat resistant pad on top of the freezer - not explaining very well but dont know how else to put it!0

as long as the freezer isn't like ours - a chest freezer with a top opening lid! Now that would be tricky....
just make sure all the air vents are clear for the air to circulate.0 -
No issues with doing this at all...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Had my previous one on top of the fridge freezer for more than 10 years. My new fridge freezer is just that bit too tall now so I've had to use up worktop space with the micro now.
Had no problems at all. Any ventilation requirements with them both are at the back.0
