i would carry on sending your payment to your creditor unless capquest have bought your debt in that case ask them to prove it tell your creditor your going in to hospital and pay in advance dont dont dont give your number to capquest although natwest have if they (capquest)contact you if they harass you change your number

Natwest have their own in house debt collection department which they use first. Then after between 3 and 6 months they ship you out to another company no idea who though sorry. I settled with them for a third of what I owed.

as for not giving out your phone number they get it when you call them. so if you don't give it out they take it anyway, even with mobiles.

Yep I think they got sick of me. I found a very helpful bank manager who sorted it for me.

Speaking as an ex debt collector turned debt worries advisor - pay your creditor and no-one else. They may refuse to deal with you and speak to you and tell you to speak to the debt collectors, but they at the end of the day are the company who decide on court or not and it is common for collection agency's to set up payment plans and receive payments with you, and not tell your creditors, or pass the money back to them for months if atall. It's easy to get caught in the middle.
Remember also - direct debits come with a garuntee that basically says if they take more money then they should, or on a different date than you agreed, they must refund you - make sure your direct debit is a paper version with signature and not the common paperless, that way your not refusing to pay or pay by dd so they can't really do anything.:A
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

when i was in debt now clear ,i did not like speaking or dealing with dca on principle much to there anger, the advise i was given by my then solicitor was check to see if the dca are collecting the debt or have they bought the debt if it is the latter ask them to prove it then pay what you can afford .with the ones who were collecting only and phoneing me at home and work he told me simply to say my contract is with the creditor and as such i will only enter in to an agreament with them and will only pay them as by law i only have to pay the creditor any debt owed i had to repeat myself and put up with insults etc but you have to expect it but you dont have to put up with it which i did not,as for dd my bank yorkshire advised me to set up standing orders to be on the safe side and dont give debit card payments at all .after all its all very well trying to claim back but if they take all your mortgage rent cash in a payment you will end up in a worse state
