Where did you go in the end?
A big thank you to everyone.
Lunch is not till the end of the month.
Like the sound of the Wheatsheaf in Symington and a few of the other places as well.
Might get round to doing a few of them at a later stage.
Will let you know where I go.
It's the breaded haddock that draws me to the Wheatsheaf.

This place in Maidens near Turnberry also gets a good write up. I know folk that go and they say it is top notch. http://wildingshotel.com/index.php
It is 20mins south of Ayr so maybe a bit further away, but is near Culzean Castle.0 -
I can vouch for Scotts in Troon especially on a sunny day! Lido in Troon is also good. There are also some really nice places in Prestwick although as I'm writing this I can't remember their names.
I live close to The Blair & its deffo worth booking as it's always busy.
In fact most of the places mentioned are great....I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!!!0 -
Old Loans in (now reopened) is fantastic.
The Ship Inn in Irvine is also great value for money.
You've also got The Piersland Hotel in Troon just by the golf course which is very fancy but actually very reasonable.0 -
The Sorn Inn is braw.
If you need breaded haddock, visit the Royal Fish & Chip Shop in Ayr.
Alternatively, the Golf Clubs at Gailes are good too.0 -
I always like the Ship in Irvine. Excellent menu and I love the cullen skink.0
