How long to get my license back after a ticket?

I got a fixed penalty fine and 3 points from a police van for doing 40 in a 30 :mad:. I handed the license in at the police station, paid the fine and will remember not to speed on that road again 
. Anyone have any ideas how long it will take to get the license back? It says 28 days but got a holiday that I need my license very shortly after the 28 days is up so hoping there aren't any delays.
Just wondered if anyone had any experience of how fast/slow the dvla are at adding points and returning the license.
