Quick 'Sympathy Card' question

My boss's wife's mum died last week, I'm quite friendly with her and know both the children.

What is the done thing here, do I write the With Sympathy card to just her or to the whole family?

TIA

I'd write it to her "and all the family" as of course they will all be very sad too. My gran died very recently and my mum had lots of cards like this; nobody was offended at all, just very pleased to receive them.

I'd write it to the person and their family

Definitely to the whole family. My father died when I was 21 and still living at home. I remember being very upset that 95% of the sympathy cards we received were just addressed to my mum.

definitely to the lady concerned and her family as you know the children its nicer if you name them too.

    To the whole family.

I was chuffed to bits to receive all the cards I did when dad passed away in May.

Thanks all, the card is now written and in the post, to the whole family!
