New baby thank you cards

My partner recently gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. We have been completely overwhelmed by the number of cards & gifts that people have given us. We want to send thank you cards out to everyone – ideally a custom made card with a picture of our baby on the front.
There are plenty of websites that offer this type of service – I’m just wondering if anyone can recommend anything in particular, and give me an idea of costings (we are looking for around 80 cards)
Thanks in advance

Hi
I've not had chance to use this service yet but there is a code for 10 free cards from Touchnote.com. you need to put baby-card-offer in for the free ones but after that the cards are 99p each if you buy over 25. Offer valid until end Dec 09. This is an offer in Pregnancy and Birth Mag (Sept issue I think). They print and send same day so you don't have too long to wait.
This still seems a bit expensive to me considering how many I would need to buy so I shall be printing my own photos of baby wearing whatever it is she has been given and sticking it to the front of some plain card.
Hope this helps you a little and congratulations on the baby girl

Thanks to all who directed me to Quidco - £289.30 since Nov 09 :beer:0 -
I got the 10 free cards just with a photo of my baby girl on them. I didnt have any words printed on them so that they were blank so I could write my message on them. They are smallish but just enough room to say thank you. I wouldnt pay for them though. There are some sellers on ebay, who do personalised thank you cards with photos so it might be worth looking on there as you need so many!Proud Mummy to Leila aged 1 whole year:j0

Many congratulations on your precious baby girl.
We used this seller on ebay, and have used her for all our cards since. She is a really lovely seller and takes a lot of care with the cards, which are great quality. She sends you a proof by email before printing the cards out. Maybe you could ask for a discount for so many cards, and go through Quidco too.

Thank you very much for your replies.
I didnt think of ebay before now, but we really like some of the designs on there, and will probably go with one of those sellers.0 -

I have a moneysaving suggestion for you - my partner and I printed a picture of our son, portrait-style scaled to about 2/3rds of the photo paper, then at the bottom we printed a personalised thank you as below:-
"Dear Nanny
Thank you so much for the lovely clothes you bought me when I was born. Mummy and Daddy say I look very handsome!
Lots of love Sam xx"
We did one for all our family and friends and were able to print them off at home as we have a photo printer but you could easily get them printed at Boots or somewhere similar, save yourself some pennies in the process.
Alternatively, for our daughter (first-born), we created a dvd for everyone - it had a few movies taken of her when first born plus a scrolling photo slideshow set to some appropriate music. That went down a treat, especially with the grandparents but unfortunately we just didn't have the time to do that with DS with a toddler on our hands!!:A kimmi_b0 -
Hi
Congratulations!
We did the same as Kimmi_B. We had decided to purchase a photo printer (roughly £40) as we knew we would be constantly printing photos of our newborn anyhow! I just designed a photocard on word doc. Very easy, very effective and very cheap! The cards were well admired, so I think they went down well

Sounds like you've decided on the ebay ones but just wanted to add, we just got married and wanted our thankyou cards to have the big group shot of all our guests on. First I was going to make them ourselves by printing the photo and sticking it onto folded card, but we needed 100+, and we made/printed all the invitations, place cards, orders of service, for 150 guests and to be honest i was thoroughly sick of it! Also i knew we would need new print cartridges - or maybe even 2 sets to do them all - so that might have been £60. in the end we used Photobox's small cards, A6 size, £7.99 for a pack of 10. We ordered 11 packs but randomly were sent 12, cool! They look absolutely fantastic and I'm very glad not to have had to do the work myself!0
