New Laptop!

Hi, i will need a laptop to go to uni this summer!

1. What type of laptop are you looking for? (Desktop replacement, ultraportable etc)
portable

2. What will be your uses for the laptop? (Net browsing, word processing, gaming, video editing etc)
word etc , net, photos, dvds,

3. What is your total budget?
£450

4. How portable does the laptop need to be? (how often will it be moved around, where it will be taken)
not totally portable

5. What type of screen do you want? (widescreen, glossy, size)
Again, not bothered about the type or size of screen - I gather the standard is 15.4", so that will do.

6. How much battery life is required?
average, will have it plugged in quite alot

7. What type of processor/ram/hard drive/optical drives do you want?
512mb or 1gb ram dont know, either celeron or pentium around 1.6 up,

8. If you want to play games, what type? (titles would be useful)
None probably

9. Are there any specific things needed (e.g. ports)
no just the standard lot

10. Which things are you willing to comprimise? (e.g. gaming laptops do not have long battery lives)
dont mind, want it to be quite fast!

11. What laptops have you considered? (post links) Are there any brands you like/dislike?

    Purchasing in about 2 months is a lifetime.

    check out savastore.com they have some good deals on Toshiba l20's at the moment a 1.7 pentium M for £474inc delivery isnt bad with 512mb dvdrw and only a 40GB drive but apart fromt hat its a great laptop.
