Courier Company Incompetence

I have tried to sort out this little problem, to no avail, and now just need to let off a little steam, and to warn others to be careful when ordering items over the internet/mail order for home delivery...

I ordered an item from bargaincrazy.com, who use Reality as their couriers. Bargaincrazy would only let me specify my home address for delivery as it was my first order with them. Reality tried to deliver the item - of course I was out at work. I called Reality as soon as I picked up their little card, and arranged redelivery to an alternative address. I was told it would take 3-5 days to arrange.

A few days later I return home to find that Reality had twice more tried to deliver the item, and made no attempt to deliver it to the alternative address. I got straight on the phone and eventually discovered that they were sorry but despite registering the alternative address, they had not used it, and had instead now returned the item to the supplier and it was my responsibility to sort out a refund or redelivery.

Bargaincrazy were then out of stock of the item (Don't quite understand how when there was one with my name and address stuck on it winging its way back to them). They arranged a refund, but will only refund the price of the item, not the P&P charge (as the item was not damaged or faulty).

Nor will Reality offer any compensation - as their contract is with Bargaincrazy, and I should negotiate with Bargaincrazy to get my money back.

It's only a small amount of money, but I don't think that's the point. Customer service has gone out of the window and I will be checking whether anyone I want to order an item from in future uses Reality for delivery, and take my business elsewhere if they do >:(

You are probably aware that Bargain Crazy belongs to one of the major mail order companies of which they use to get rid of old stock, the name has slipped my mind, how'ever if you feel you have alittle more time to waste as it appears these courier services think you have, I know from experience and had a gut full, write a letter to the company advising that you refuse to use them and give them this site address as well in order that they know others have been advised of this appalling service. Its has worked for me on four occasions as I have now had a response from the top people of four companies. Power to the money savers

Nothing to lose in giving it a go - I think Bargain Crazy are linked to Littlewoods, but will do some investigation!
