Can i change bank whilst reclaiming bank charges back?

Help, I really want to change banks but not sure if I can do it whilst trying to reclaim unfair bank charges? Can I change banks?

hi guys im a newbie i really need some advice , last weds i got my abbey statement and had the shock of my life they are going to charge me £228.00 on 17th september money i dont have for goin over my overdraft , i called them up they said they could only waive £35.00 as i have had charges before , im a single mum working part time on low income so ive made a complaint , the letter hasnt come yet , would be grateful as to what i should do now before 17th im so worried .:(.0

You can move to a basic bank account or current account elsewhere - especially if you are overdrawn the debt becomes contested whilst you reclaim and you can make a fresh start. Don't ignore the old bank. Claim financial hardship and make a claim for your fees.
I did this and ended up in credit after all the to and forth.
