Jigsaws @ Boot Sales

Do 500 piece jigsaws sell well at car boot sales? What should I charge for them?

Thanks

I used to volunteer and organise a charity auction, and we used to get hundreds of donated jigsaws which we couldn't sell! SOme were still sealed. Since it was an auction people could bid as little as they wanted, but they didn't even go for a few pence.

I would recommend trying them for £1 when you first get there then if they don't sell you can reduce them down to 50p or something like that.

If they are nice ones then you may sell them. Good Luck.

Hoenestly, unless they were sealed, I would never buy a used jigsaw puzzle. It is SO frustrating to get to the end and find a piece missing.

I tried to sell some at a car boot 2 weeks ago and ended up bringing them home. No interest at all.

I would never buy an open jigsaw puzzle for the same reason as previously mentioned, if they are unopened I wouldn't expect more than a few pence.
  • If they're used, they may be worth up to 50p each, but only if labelled "checked and complete", with the pieces in a bag inside (preferably one of those food bags with the plastic zip-type closure), and even then, they can be very hard to sell. If you have any suitably sized old picture frames and have the time to do the jigsaws, they will sell better framed as pictures.
