Do you help out with the scouts post? Good idea though, i'll hold you to that lol! :p

Yes, I'm involved in Scouting and for the month or so before Christmas my social life consists of sorting mail at our district sorting hall and then delivering it in my group area come rain or shine!
It's a good way to send your stuff cheaper and help charity at the same time!

I have just ordered save the date magnets from vista print, i am only sending them to family that are down south. I am opening up a facebook invite (private of course!!) for all my friends, was going to do this in October some time. Most of them know anyway butmakes it a bit more official.
somepeople send them out up to 2 years in advance! i think the average time from reading wedding forums is about 1 year before :)
would love to win an ipad!

We haven't done 'save the date' things, we haven't even got our invitations to send out yet. We get married in 3 months! I still have lots to do.

Ach, it's only a wedding. I have my OH, someone to marry us and somewhere to do it and something to wear. The rest is just cosmetic.

    Isn't it?

Course it is, but i'd be worried about paying upfront for venue/food/drink etc, if i didn't have an idea of how many people were going to turn up.

Money is better in my purse than wasted! :D

My SIL2B is a professional caterer, qualified up to her eyeballs, so that's not a problem, we'll pay for however many we think are coming and if it doesn't get eaten, take it home for Christmas! We're only inviting 40-50 people, the 40 are family and a few friends, although only a couple live within an hour of the venue - the rest are further.

I'm not worried. Nope. Not me.

  • save the dates a full year in advance and invites 2 months before the wedding. We have a small number of guests and have spoken to them all re the details already so the invites are just to keep it formal, not really needed in our case so 2 months is fine.If you need to give peopel time to get accomodation and plan travelling then invites I think would need to go out 4 months, even up to 6 months in advance of wedding
