Benefit rights confusion

I have been on medical retirement for some time and am totally confused,Does anyone know if you are on a works pension(taxed of course) and receive a small ammount of income support(also taxed) is your "stamp" (as they used to call it)being paid toward your state pension?and why if you receive Incapacity, you have no right to free prescritions(etc) and you have to pay Council tax??

If you are claiming IB you will have a credit each week added to your National Insurance account which will go towards your State Retirement Pension.

If you are receiving IS you would get free prescriptions and if you are receiving IB you may get reduced or free prescrptions on the grounds of a low income, you need form HC1.

Also if you have a low income you may qualify for Council Tax Benefit, you need to contact your local council about this.

I'm a little confused how you can have income of over £125 per week and still claim IS. Have I misunderstood something?

Incapacity Benefits are either IB, IS or ESA. Which one are you on?

Your post has not been updated since October 2009, do you need some new information?
    Gone ... or have I?
